The second single “Fire”, recently released from former Destiny Child member Michelle Williams is melodically refreshing. Although we’re almost well into fall it certainly rings summer fun, bicycle rides, and a hint of island (lol).
This song takes a spin on the cliché “fire shut up in my bones” and makes it young and relevant. With just enough bounce to keep fans grooving, the song speaks a message of how the all-consuming fire of God can come to reprove us but also revive a sense of new life within us.
Williams steers away from the soft, drawn-back, airy tone and sings with an underlying confidence that pierces through the beat.
This song is a subtle force that serves as a great follow-up to the artists first single “If We Had Your Eyes”. This single is sure to be a seamless cross-over to urban radio. This is the singer's fourth solo studio album.
